I often wonder—
Do I drift into your thoughts
As often as you linger in mine?
Do you find yourself
Tracing the edges of the could’ve beens,
The would’ve beens,
The should’ve beens—
If only truth had guided us?
Do you ever wonder
How different life might feel
If you had chosen me?
I can still picture it,
Still feel it,
Tangible, a quiet ache
Tucked beneath my chest.
I gave you everything,
An offering of unguarded devotion,
But it was never enough.
Your love carried no weight,
Only the hollow echo of lies.
Still, I wonder—
Do you ever wonder?
Does the weight of regret press against you,
For turning away from something pure?
For letting my untainted love slip away,
When it could have been magic,
If only you’d let it be real?
